Our Mission

Peterborough Campus Ministry (PCM) exists to accompany students of Trent University and Sir Sandford Fleming College into a personal and life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ.

On behalf of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Peterborough (Ontario), we support and collaborate with the Catholic Council of Trent and Fleming College Catholics, the respective registered student associations on both campuses.

Our Method

We believe that God loves each and every person. Through his Son, Jesus Christ, God continually invites us into a relationship of love which is meant to bring us lasting joy and true freedom.

Discovering and nurturing this relationship is the work of Christian discipleship. The journey is not always easy or clear, but God always provides for our needs.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, took on our human nature to give us a model of a loving relationship with God, and with others. He described himself in the Gospel of John as “the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6).

Our community of disciples is committed to following the way Christ reveals, learning the truth He teaches, and sharing in the life He gives.

THE WAY – Sacraments and Prayer

Discovering Jesus and frequently spending time with Him is critical to being a disciple.

With Peterborough Campus Ministry you will have regular access to Sunday and Weekday Masses, including on campus at both Trent University and Fleming College.

You can spend time in prayer at special sessions of Eucharistic Adoration, participate in devotionals such as the Rosary, or even receive personalized spiritual direction with a priest.

THE TRUTH – Study and Formation

At Peterborough Campus Ministry, you will be able to learn both Scripture and our Christian Tradition within our small group communities, known as Faith Studies

You can also feed your stomach and your mind at Sunday brunches, where we offer a short teaching (or “catechesis”) along with delicious food.

At Theology on Tap we share fellowship and our favourite beverage while engaging with a guest speaker.

If you are not Catholic, or perhaps have never been baptized, made your First Communion, or received Confirmation, we offer the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), in a setting designed for students.

THE LIFE – Community and Witness

The best things in life are shared, and Jesus is no exception!

At Peterborough Campus Ministry, you are invited to become part of a community where you will find friendship, support, and laughter on your journey of Christian discipleship.

Join us for social gatherings on campus and dress up for our holiday party or spring semi-formal.

With Catholic peers at your side, you will never have to go to Mass by yourself and you will always have a friend to call when times are tough.
